Board of Directors

Rick Braddy—Co-Founder and CTO

Rick Braddy is an IT and software industry leader with more than 40 years of experience and a track record of success as an IT executive and leader with public software companies like Citrix and BMC Software. Rick co-founded SoftNAS in 2012 and led the development of the original SoftNAS Cloud product, which directly contributed to the formation of the Cloud NAS market in 2014. He has led the company through various phases of growth and established SoftNAS Cloud as the #1 Cloud NAS on AWS and Microsoft Azure for the most mission-critical, high-performance applications customers move to the public cloud today. Rick is responsible for the SoftNAS vision and its technology as CTO.

During his tenure with Citrix as CTO and VP Product Management, Rick led and managed the company’s growth from a $425 million, single-product company into a multi-product, global enterprise IT software company with more than $1.2 billion in revenues. Rick is a United States Air Force veteran with experience in global, classified cryptographic voice and data systems at NORAD Cheyenne Mountain Complex. He’s also an avid ham radio operator, bass fisherman and oil painter.

Vic Mahadevan—Chairman of the Board

exec-henry Vic Mahadevan served as the Chief Strategy Officer for NetApp. In this role, Vic was responsible for leading NetApp’s business strategy and identifying additional market and product opportunities to fuel future growth. He was also responsible for driving strategic planning, managing acquisitions, and supporting NetApp’s strategic alliances and partnership teams.

Before joining NetApp, Vic served as VP of marketing for LSI Corporation, where he was responsible for driving all aspects of product management, outbound marketing and business alliances. Prior to LSI, Vic was the CEO of NeoEdge Networks. He was also the VP/GM of BMC Software’s Storage Management Business Unit and VP/GM of Compaq’s Storage Business Unit.

J. Weldon Granger—Vice Chairman of the Board

Weldon Granger is an experienced entrepreneur, senior executive and engineer. After working as an engineer at Monsanto Chemical Company, Weldon used his knowledge to found Omega Services Industries, which he grew to over 1000 employees before the company was sold for a respectable profit to all shareholders. 

Weldon was general partner, Chairman and CEO of Valencia Hotel Corporation, developing, funding and operating hotels in the Austin, Texas area. The properties were sold to the satisfaction of its shareholders.

His current involvements include Chairman and CEO of Advanced Integrated Services, an oil and gas service company providing logic control system and electrical and instrumentation to major oil companies. As chairman of EBS (Employee Benefit Systems), a company founded by Weldon 23 years ago, he provides oversight on the sale of worksite benefits to major companies in the aerospace Industry and rail industry.  

Weldon has served on numerous boards including: National Commerce Bank, Frost Bank, Old Braeswood National Bank, Museum of American and Western Art, Guide Dogs of America, St. Thomas High School, and Regis School for Boys. As Vice Chairman of the SoftNAS board, Weldon engages with the executive team to help maintain focus on our strategy and objective towards a successful Cloud company.


Garry Olah—President & CEO

Garry Olah is an accomplished Senior Executive, Entrepreneur and Thought Leader with more than 20 years of success in the technology industry. Garry has been a valuable asset for startups seeking guidance on building a partner sales models and creating momentum for growth. His broad areas of expertise include business development, alliance building, communication, enterprise software, startups, B2B, SaaS, storage, cloud computing, analytics, sales & marketing vision, and disruptive tech. Throughout his executive career, Garry has held leadership positions with Prime Foray, Vedify, GoodData, Coho Data, Apprenda, Citrix and BMC. Garry holds a BS in Industrial Engineering & Distribution from the University of Houston. He has served on various industry boards including as a six-year Chairman of the Board and member of the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), Software Division and he actively speaks at industry events.

Michael Goodwin—COO & CFO

exec-goodwin Michael Goodwin spent the first 10 years of his professional career with Texas Commerce Bank, Accenture and as a director with Continental Airlines where he represented the airline in its e-commerce aviation initiatives; led strategy development and implementation of the airline’s maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) supply chain initiative; and financially directed the aircraft operations divisions. Michael has advised numerous start-ups and early stage companies, mostly in software and services on management, strategy, finance and growth initiatives. Nonprofit board experience includes co-founding the Technology Entrepreneurs Exchange, founding the Michigan Private Equity Partnership and serving as a founding board member of the Houston Toolbank. Michael has an MBA from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where he was a William Davidson Fellow. He graduated with special honors with degrees in history and economics from The University of Texas at Austin where he was in the Honors Program and a Normandy Scholar. 

Randolph M. Henry

exec-henry Randy Henry is an experienced executive with a proven track record of building and growing businesses from start-up stage through maturity, resulting in liquidity events of up to almost two hundred million dollars. Randy holds an MBA from the Wharton School of Finance, a graduate degree from Cambridge University in England and a BA from Southern Methodist University. Randy has extensive private equity investment experience in both start-up technology and non-technology companies. He has served on numerous boards including Texas Commerce Bank – Tanglewood, MedServe, Inc., and the Advisory Board of Woodway Financial Advisors. Nonprofit board experience includes Chairman of the Board of Visitors of the University Of Texas Department of Astronomy and McDonald Observatory, Vice Chairman of Rebuilding Together, Chairman of The Post Oak School, and board member of the Association of Container Reconditioners. As a Board member of SoftNAS, Randy consults with the executive team on strategic business, finance and other matters. 

Roger A. Ramsey

exec-ramsey Ramsey Ramsey, a CPA, graduated cum laude from Texas Christian University with a BS in Commerce. After beginning his career with Arthur Andersen & Co, where he spent eight years and was a Manager in the Tax Department, Ramsey’s career can be summed up as one of starting or taking control of and expanding small companies. Three of the companies with which Ramsey played a meaningful role (Chairman, CEO or CFO) became public companies listed on the NYSE (2) or NASDAQ (1). Four others were sold for nine digit amounts each, prior to becoming public companies. Growth companies with which he has been involved have raised more than $12 billion in the national and international capital markets. Since his retirement at the end of 1998, Ramsey has been involved with his family’s private investment company. In addition to currently serving on the Board of publicly held Carrizo Oil & Gas, Inc. (CRZO), Ramsey formerly served on the Boards of publicly held Consolidated Fibers, Inc. (NASDAQ), Allied Waste Industries, Inc. (AW) from 1989 to 2002, U.S. Liquids, Inc. (USL) from 1998 to 2003 and WCA Waste, Inc. (WCAA) from 2006 to 2012. He has served on the Board of Trustees of Texas Christian University since 1992 (Athletic, Building & Grounds, Finance and Investment Committees). Ramsey is a member of the Environmental Industries Association’s management Hall of Fame.

Bruce Cameron—Board of Directors, Dowley Security Systems

Bruce Cameron PhotoWith 45 years of entrepreneurial expertise, Bruce Cameron has played an active role in a variety of lucrative business ventures throughout his career. A native Houstonian, Cameron has worked with various early stage companies and startups in fields such as real estate investment partnerships and development, biotechnology, medical waste and software. Cameron served as President of the U.S. division of the start up biotech company Proteome Sciences, which he helped to take public in the United Kingdom. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Dowley Security Systems, Inc. Cameron is an attorney who studied at the University Of Texas School of Law and passed the bar in 1972. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Southern Methodist University.

Michael (Mickey) E. Henry

exec-mhenry Mickey has an MBA from the University of Texas and MA in Psychology from Southern Methodist University. He spent the first 10 years of his career as a commercial and investment banker. In the 1980′s he formed Michael E Henry & Associates, a real estate finance company that evolved into a pipeline right-of-way aerial videotaping company. His company was purchased by Petris Technology (purchased by Haliburton), an energy management software company, where Mickey was an officer and product manager for virtual data room software for 10 years. Four years ago Mickey, started his own virtual data room software company, idrShare LLC, a very successful SaaS company that provides services to large public companies and commercial banks. Mickey is one of three SoftNAS board level managers who oversees company policies, decisions and provides operational support.

Pete Jarvis—VP, Strategy, TidalScale

exec-herren Pete Jarvis has a track record of creating innovative solutions and platforms that address the needs of the emerging knowledge, intellectual property, and innovation markets globally. Previously, he was general manager at Intellectual Ventures where he drove the development of the nascent Communications portfolio, and started and managed the Networking and Growth Business Units. Pete has an innovation and management background in technology, with a career spanning Intellectual Ventures, Microsoft, Bell Northern Research and 3Com. Pete was awarded the Nortel Networks Presidents award in 1999 for Innovation in Europe for developing the Centrex IP gateway and soft client product solution. At 3Com Pete helped develop the 3Com Transcend Enterprise Manager, Office Connect product solutions and the first web based device management solution for small form factor network devices. He is a member of the IAM Strategy 300—The world’s 300 most influential Intellectual Property strategists.

Brad Pedersen—former VP, Chief Architect and Senior Fellow, Citrix

Brad Pedersen has been VP Chief Architect at Citrix since 1993.  Brad joined Citrix in 1989 as a senior software engineer, and was an original member of the company’s software design and development team. In fact, Brad was employee number 7 at Citrix!  He holds 37 issued US patents, including several on the design of the Citrix Independent Computing Architecture (ICA) protocol. Before joining Citrix, he was senior architect at IBM, and prior to that, he worked for Harris Computer Systems as a senior engineer. Brad is considered the father of Citrix’s Independent Computing Architecture (ICA) protocol. In 1994 Brad created the design and architecture of the ICA protocol which is still used today by Citrix XenApp and Citrix XenDesktop. As Chief Architect, Brad is responsible for overseeing the architecture and design of all Citrix technology, including ICA, HDX, XenApp and XenDesktop.

R. Scott Herren—CFO, Autodesk

exec-herrenBefore joining Autodesk, R. Scott Herren served as SVP of Finance for Citrix, where he led all finance, accounting, treasury/tax and investor relations teams for Citrix worldwide. Prior, Herren was Vice President and Managing Director of Citrix Systems Int’l for EMEA where he was responsible for all sales, service and support across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Previously, Herren served as Group VP and General Manager of the Application Virtualization Group, responsible for building products to virtualize Windows applications and desktops, including Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop. Herren also served as Citrix’s Vice President, EMEA Operations, where he managed back-office functions including customer service, facilities, human resources, IT services, order services, procurement, product manufacturing, real estate and sales operations and programs. And before that, Herren served as Citrix’s Vice President of Finance for three years, responsible for mergers and acquisitions, inbound technology licensing and investor relations. Herren joined Citrix in March 2000, following three years at Federal Express in senior positions in divisional and corporate finance and 13 years at IBM in finance and operations roles. He holds a degree in industrial engineering from Georgia Tech and an MBA from Columbia University.

Ted Finch—CEO, Chanimal

exec-finch Ted Finch is one of the top channel and marketing experts in the high-tech industry, having launched over 450 products into the channel for over 200 vendors (including Microsoft, HP, Adobe, Corel, Intel, Aldus, Epson, AOL, WordPerfect, Novel, Autodesk, Citrix, IBM, Western Digital, Sony, Disney, Lotus, DCA, Trusted Data, Netscape and iOmega; plus has consulted with over 170 Fortune 500 to Mid-sized companies and start-ups including several storage software and hardware vendors). Ted is a former VP of Sales and Marketing with TAC (now called MarketStar), a VP at Goldmine Software, VP at Harcourt, Sr. VP at Motorola and VP at GE. In addition, he helped form Red Storm Entertainment with Tom Clancy and led the marketing team that published Netscape Navigator, the #1 best-selling software in the world at the time that inaugurated the .com era.
